Almere Poort 2013

37 images Created 29 May 2015

Almere Poort is a planned township in The Netherlands that is still undergoing major construction. A fifteen-minute train ride from the nations capitol, Almere Poort was so named, as it is the first port of entry to The Municipality of Almere when travelling from Amsterdam.

Despite the short distance between the two cities the change in landscape is incredible. In no time you travel from the old to the new, from the crowded streets of Amsterdam to a new landscape being built entirely on reclaimed land 3-5 meters below sea level.
